The Genius Of Football Star Ronaldinho

One of the most important players to FC Barcelona’s success under Joan Laporta has been Ronaldo de Assis Moreira from Brazil, although many people will not recognise him under that name. More usually known as Ronaldinho, sometimes shortened to Ronnie, or otherwise as Gaucho, he is one of the top players in the world and has set the game of football in Spain alight.
Ronaldinho came to Barcelona in 2003 after spending two years with Paris Saint-Germain. The person usually credited with him coming on board is Sando Rosell, who at the time was Vice President of the club and Laporta’s right hand man. Ronaldinho quickly established himself as a firm favourite with Barcelona’s supporters with the ability to entertain with his ball control as well as score.
After several years of indifferent results Barcelona started to regain its confidence and by the end if the 2003-2004 season were back in full swing, finished in second place in the league behind Valencia, with attendances at the Nou Camp growing with each match.
Ronaldinho was born in Porto Alegre in Brazil in 1980 and honed his skills as a child playing indoor and beach football. Aged just 13 he came to the attention of the local media when he scored all the goals in a victory against a local team. When you learn that Ronaldinho’s team won 23-0 you get some idea of how impressive a feat that was.
His first team as a professional player was Grêmio in 1998, which his older brother, Roberto, had played for earlier - his own football career was cut short through injury and he eventually became the manager of Ronaldinho instead.
With his magic touch of the ball and a clear ability to score, Ronaldinho was snapped up by the Brazilian squad in 1999 and was clear interest from a number of big-name European clubs, Ronaldinho signed with Paris Saint-Germain in 2001.
Whether he was unhappy in Paris, or enjoying the nightlife too much as manager Luis Fernandez claimed is unclear, but for whatever reason he was unable to produce the on-pitch pyrotechnics that he is famous for and by 2003 Ronaldinho made it clear that he was looking to move on.
Both FC Barcelona and Manchester United went after him, but when Manchester and Paris Saint-Germain were unable to agree transfer terms the way was clear for FC Barcelona to get the Brazilian’s signature.
Ronaldinho’s debut was on a summer tour of the United States, when the club played an exhibition match against AC Milan in which he scored. He quickly became a favourite of the club, when time after time he was able to produce impressive displays of ball control in which was able to show off his natural talents that whether they made it to the back of the net always left him with his trademark toothy grin across his face.
In addition to the La Liga and Champions League titles that Ronaldinho helped propel Barcelona towards, he also has been awarded some of football’s top individual awards. In 2004 and 2005 he won the FIFA World Player of the Year award, the European Footballer of the Year in 2005 and worldwide professional footballers association, FIFPro’s World Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006.

Berti Vogts 'not happy' with Eagles

New Super Eagles manager Berti Vogts watched his charges labour to a 1-0 victory over Uganda's Cranes in his first game in charge and promptly declared that the performance was 'not very good'. Prior to the match, Vogts had insisted that he wanted his team not only to win, but to win with style but after a tepid first half in which the Eagles showed brilliance in fits and starts, Vogts told KICK OFF that there was still some way to go. "I was not happy with the first half," Vogts told KICK OFF at the post match press conference. "We did not play very well." Vogts must have made his feelings clear to his charges at half time as the Nigerians sparked into life in the second half, playing with urgency and determination. They were rewarded for their persistence when skipper Kanu Nwankwo forced home the decisive goal from John Mikel Obi's corner after Seyi Olofinjana's header was cleared off the line. But Vogts insisted that the overall performance was below expectations. "We had a better second half but overall, it was not very good," Vogts lamented. He gave credit to Uganda however, for being a very good team, "We played against a very good and organised team and I want to say congratulations to my opponents for a very good game." The Eagles now top Group three with nine points, five ahead of the Cranes, whom they meet in Kampala in June.

Understanding The American Soccer Camp Environment

Coaches run soccer camps to make money...sometimes, lots of it. Fortunately, there are other motivations, too. But you need to the know the organizing principle of the camp to select the right camp ... and enjoy the best camp experience.
There are five types of coaching arrangements that create the U.S. soccer camp "system":
(1) Local coaches (e.g., high school coaches or "premier team" coaches), assisted by local/college players, conduct camps for local players and teams. (Note: local youth soccer associations will sometimes host a Type 1, 2, or 3 camp.)
(2) Regional teams (e.g., MLS and A-league), sports complexes and even equipment suppliers will conduct camps to strengthen relationships with the community and to earn extra money
(3) National or regional professional soccer camp business conducts camps as a money-making enterprise.
(4) College or university coaches conduct camps to earn money over the summer and to raise profile of their program.
(5) State Youth Soccer Association or Olympic Development Program conduct camps as part of their soccer development program to identify players and as a source of income for affiliated coaches. But often the most intensive training is done at special camps for select players and teams A sixth-type of arrangement is becoming more common, whereby international coaches set up a camp in the U.S., or international camps or soccer tours are set-up for U.S. kids. In 2003, Manchester United's "soccer schools" made a big impression in the U.S.
The type of camp and its quality are two different things.
For example, a "lesser" Type 1 camp may be run by USSF A-licensed coaches who use high school players that may have a good rapport with kids--or not. But a "higher level" regional or national camp may simply trade off the name of a coach or player, who "directs" the camp by remote control.
Big camps may provide resources smaller camps don't have, like fitness or mental- performance training. But check them out carefully. The actual coaching staff may be "hired guns, whose motivations will vary depending on their stake in the camp's success, their salary, and their burnout level, particularly at the end of the camping season. Similarly a camp you liked last year may reprint their brochure, but the camp could be significantly worse (or better) due to changes in ownership or personnel.
There may be some benefit attending a university-based camp to expose yourself to the school--and to a prospective coach. But basically coaches rely on recruiters who observe players under actual game pressure, rather than the less-pressured camp environment .

David Beckham was undoubtedly one of my favourite football player in the last decade. He launched his very first soccer skills DVD in the year 2004 and I immediately bought this DVD to give it a try.
Here's my personal review of the David Beckham's soccer skills DVD.
An attractive rectangular-shaped DVD case includes two sets of DVD; Disc 1 and Disc 2. Disc 1 covers the main programme and Disc 2 covers the extras like Behind the Scenes.
Select your favourite or weakest skill and drill through a user-friendly main menu interface.
Disc 1
The main programme shows every football skills and drills like crossing, space making skills, free kicks etc personally guided by David himself.
Basic Skills : ball control and turning skills ( e.g Cruyff Turn)
Off-the-ball skills : a) Defending skills : closing down and defending
b) Attacking skills : space making skills, forward play and working for space
Passing skills : passing and long balls ( e.g chipping)
Finishing and Set-Pieces : finishing and free kicks
All football skills are explained in greater depth and shown in step by step with slow motion. One of the 'cool' features I found in this DVD is the split screen showing both the step by step and the execution in 'real' time.
David also guide the kids with his personal experiences by encouraging them to improve their weaker foot and also the importance of first touch in a 'real' football match.
Disc 2
Special Features
Extra Footage You'll able to see what's behind the making of this DVD involving David Beckham and other crews. The kids in this DVD have a once in lifetime chance to ask questions regarding David's personal life and professional career. I personally love to watch the kids playing a football game with David. Some of it are funny and some are interesting.
Special Effects A 'cool' feature for those who likes to know more about the technology used to motion capture, time slice and slow motion effects. I found this one to be interesting because I get to study David's movement and technique in absolute detail.
David's Football Highlights Watch David Beckham's important moments for Manchester United, England and possibly in footballing history. Some of you may want to replay his goal from the half way line against Wimbledon in 1996.
DVD Rom Users are able to print out the coaching plan of the skills and drills so that you can always refer and practice.

An outstanding Lionel Messi saved the El-Classico for the catalans and most importantly made sure that the difference between Sevilla and the defending champions will be only 3 points. Don't be surprised if yesterday's El-Classico will be remembered as Lionel Messi's ElClassico. At last Messi started giving justification to El Diego's comments of making his successor. He has been showing flashes of his brilliance till yesterday, but yesterday he just released the first part of a hopefully long film called "Messi Unleashed". Yesterday's match was a battle between the collective determinations of the mardid players and individual brilliance of Barcelona players. As usual Barcelona defense played havoc and was responsible for their entire problems. But Barca players were not helped properly by a team management which was as confused as the players. First of all I never understood the formation played by Barca yesterday, but I am lucky that I am not the only one. It looked like the players also never had any idea and moreover they were not at all confident with the defense. Otherwise its not easy to explain the number of reckless challenges thrown by players.
The first Goal came from a defensive lapse from the most unlikely player, Thuram. But this has been the story of Barcelona this season. The faults are coming from the most unlikely players of all. Last season Edmillson looked like one of the best defensive midfielder, this season it gives me nightmares thinking about he playing in the side. So is the case with Marquez. Hopefully there are some good news coming and most probably we will sign Abidal and Frings this summer. These two guys surely should solve our aerial defense problem. But then when Thuram and Zam came everyone said this, you cannot guess anything in Barcelona. The Goals scored by Barca were brilliant. Beautiful teamwork and individual skills. Iniesta looked like he was playing Polo when he was put in the Back. But the moment he came forward he was back to his best. Gudjonsen looks like he will give us a more physical option in front of the goal. The defense........mmmmmmmmmm... Did we have one? I don't know... deco didn't look at his best. Ronnie showed flashes of brilliance. But the real stars of night were Messi, Iker Cassilas and Victor Valdes. They were just simply awesome.

The world of soccer is a great niche to tap into to make money. There are a few ways to do it, and I'd like to cover 3 of them, including the technique I personally use.
I love soccer for 2 reasons. Firstly it's good fun! I love playing (I’m not that fast these days I might add!) and love watching.
Secondly I love soccer because it provides an online market which is more than willing to spend money, and in order to grab some of that money, you simply need to offer the market what it wants. The personalization of soccer shirts may be most obvious, but someone who pays for that will pay for all sorts of other stuff to be personalized.
Did you know that 'personalized soccer shirts' as a phrase is searched for online a huge amount of times each and every month? This is highly targeted traffic, because when someone types that phrase into a search engine, we know what they are after - personalized soccer shirts! We don't need to guess what they want.
So, how can we profit from this market? Firstly we can be an affiliate for a company that offers the product. The advantages are that we don't need any stock, we don't need a website, we just drive traffic to the site, and earn a commission from any sales generated. Those commissions can add up very quickly.
The only downside with this method is that you are competing with all the other affiliates - great for the company, not so good for all the affiliates!
The second method is to set up our own operation to provide personalized soccer shirts and other gear. The obvious advantage is that we get to keep all the profit, but the equally obvious disadvantage is that we have to pay out lots in advance, for the stock, website creation, traffic generation, etc, etc. That's why I wouldn't use that method.
The third method is the one I use. You don't need a website or upfront expense - in fact it can be run and maintained at zero cost. It's providing information. Information is easy to produce and distribute with today's technology. How about information which tells them how to earn a lot of money from the world of soccer, so they can buy as much personalization as they'd ever want! It really is a simple way to make money online, and once the work is set up, it continues to work on autopilot!
It works for me, and there is absolutely no reason why it shouldn't be working for you today, so hopefully I've excited you about how you can make money from the world of soccer.

There are a million things you can do with soccer balls. You can kick them. You can play catch with them. You can hit them back and forth across the floor with a baby. You can dribble them with your knees. You can bounce soccer balls off your head. You can play dodge ball with them. You can play with your soccer balls in a pool. Or, you can play soccer with your soccer balls. Whatever your interests, you can find something to do with a soccer ball.
The nice thing about soccer balls is that you don’t need anything else to have fun with them. Sure, if you are going to play soccer, then you might want some soccer goals, or a soccer field to play on, but you can usually find a park that has some or you can make some yourself. Most of the time however, you don’t need any other equipment to find things to do with just your soccer ball.
You can kick soccer balls around for hours at a time and not get bored with it. You can practice different kinds of kicks and soccer tricks, and show them off to your friends. You can kick the soccer ball back and forth with a friend. You can kick your soccer ball around in a park, a field, a farm, up in the mountains, on rocks, anywhere you are, you can probably kick a soccer ball around for entertainment.
One nice thing about a soccer ball, is that you can play games where you compete with yourself. You can test yourself to see how many times you can kick the soccer ball into the air without it hitting the ground, similar to hackey sack. You can do it by yourself or with friends. You can bounce it on your head for as long as you can. You can dribble it off your feet and your knees, your shoulders and your head. Once you’ve done it, you can keep trying to improve and do better. Keep trying to increase the number of times you can kick it, knee it, or hit it with your head without letting the soccer ball touch the ground. It’s nice because it also helps you develop your soccer skills, as well as just being something fun to do. You learn to have better ball control and when you are playing a game you can control the ball better as you are dribbling down the field or passing to your teammates. It will help you to dribble past your opponents better. When you are in a game, you also may be more likely to do a cool move or score a cool goal by hitting it off your head into the goal.
Another nice thing that you can do with a soccer ball is practice cool soccer tricks, like jump kicking it in the air. You can do a straight jump kick or a side jump kick. Or you can do one of those kicks where you jump backwards onto your back and kick the ball while you are in the air, before you hit the ground. One of my favorite tricks, that makes people think that I am good soccer player, even though I am not, is to roll the ball up the back of your leg with your other foot, and then kick the ball with your heel, from the leg the ball rolled up, so that it goes flying forward over your head. My goal is to one day score a goal by doing that trick where I kick it with my heel forward over my head, and then using my head to hit the ball in to the goal and score. Once I’ve done that, my purpose will be fulfilled.
Anyway, a soccer hobby has proven the test of time and space. Whatever country in the world you are in, you will find people playing soccer. It is the most popular sport in the world, and it doesn’t look like it is losing momentum. In fact, soccer is catching on more in the United States, where it is the less popular than in other countries. So start your soccer hobby today and get yourself a soccer ball, and start kicking it around.

With supporters of FC Barcelona located all around the world and a massive global following, it will come as no surprise to most people that one priority for many visitors to Barcelona is to see the team in action at the Nou Camp.
Interest has become especially keen over the last few years when players like Ronaldinho, Messi and Eto’o have displayed the kind of on-pitch magic that makes the final result almost irrelevant. Luckily for supporters and the team though, this spectacular football goes beyond just show and the team is able to score too.
The result of this is that Barcelona have won the Spanish La Liga for the last 2 seasons and took home the Champions League trophy in 2006 and the result means that Futbol Club Barcelona is a bigger draw than ever.

With tickets going on sale to the public just 2 weeks before a match and 130,000 club members vying for 98,000 tickets it often makes sense to book from one of the ticket agents with a guaranteed allocation for each match.

It has been said that more people in the world play soccer than any other sport, and there is little reason to doubt the veracity of that claim. With little more than an open field, a makeshift goal, and a ball, you can have a soccer game at just about any time. This is surely one of the reasons that soccer is so popular in some poor countries, but it hardly explains soccer's popularity in developed countries like the United States. Here, organized soccer players need more than a ball to play, and in many cases, proper soccer shoes are required before you are allowed to take the field of play.
Soccer shoes are required for several reasons. Not only do appropriate shoes give you traction in a sport where traction is paramount, they also provide you with support and padding that will protect you from injury. A quality soccer shoe is constructed with an upper portion that is made with materials and layering that will give the player the most feel for the ball, and in a sport where your feet are as important as soccer, that feel is incredibly valuable.
Since feel for the ball is important, the materials used are also integral in transmitting that feel. Soccer shoes are usually made of real leather or synthetic leather, with real leather providing the best feedback for the player. Real leather has other advantages as well. Leather shoes tend to fit better and are often more durable as well. However, those advantages come with a higher price. Further, if you are playing on a wet, water logged field, a real leather shoe will absorb more moisture making it heavy and robbing it of its durability.
A less expensive option is synthetic leather. Appropriate for beginning and intermediate players, synthetic leather offers an affordable entry level shoe for prospective soccer players. Further, synthetic leather offers greater water resistance and is ideal for play on wet fields. Synthetic leather shoes are easier to clean and tend to maintain their looks for a longer period of time even though they typically do not last as long as their leather counterparts.
The most important part of soccer shoes is where the rubber meets the road; the sole, where the cleats are. There are four types of soles on soccer shoes: molded cleats, detachable cleats, turf shoes, and indoor shoes. Molded cleats are the most basic and affordable design. Perfect for young or beginning players, molded cleats are part of the sole of the shoe and they are designed to be appropriate – although not ideal – for a wide range of playing conditions. Detachable cleats are similar to the molded cleats but with one major difference; you can remove them. By unscrewing the cleats and replacing them with different types and lengths, more advanced players can create a shoe that is ideal for the playing conditions they may face in their game.
Soccer is not always played in cleats, however, and some shoes are designed for use on Astroturf or on other kinds of indoor surfaces. Looking as much like sneakers as typical soccer shoes, turf shoes and indoor shoes possess a tread designed to grip artificial surfaces while still providing the optimal feel that is needed in a soccer shoe.
When you purchase your soccer shoes make sure to be properly fit and remember that they are designed to feel snug, particularly on the upper portion of the shoe. Remember that a leather shoe will stretch over time, so a shoe that feels snuff at first may eventually stretch and mold to the exact shape of your foot making it like a part of you, and perfect for the game of soccer.

The New Patnership Between The German bundesliga And MLS

The German Bundesliga and the Major League of Soccer signed a partnership agreement that will see the two leagues collaborate on everything from player development to marketing. Bundesliga chief executive Christian Siefer and MLS Commissioner Don Garber made the announcement at Sportel convention in Miami, saying the exchange of information and expertise will help further develop the sport in both countries.
This relationship will benefit and will be an important step forward for Major League Soccer. There is a general awareness that this age of globalization means new challenges for football, the most global sport. For the MLS it is an honor to be able to enter this mutually beneficial relationship with the Bundesliga, one of the world's most well-run and most successful football leagues.
While the Bundesliga is one of the world’s top leagues, there is much that can be learned from the MLS, which operates under a strict salary cap and unique sports business model. Discussions have been initiated with Major League Soccer because of the impressive progress it has made since its inception in 1996.
The Bundesliga also looks forward to learn from Mayor League of Soccer, there is also some other examples that the organization and a modern league with an eye on the future can give. And in the same way the Bundesliga seems proud to contribute to the continued rise of soccer in the United States.
The partnership is the latest in a series of bridges built between the MLS and established
European leagues.
